About the card
With the Troika debit card from VTB, you can not only make purchases, withdraw cash, and make transfers, but also pay for fares in the metro, Moscow public transport, and Moscow region commuter trains.
Terms
Issuing the main card and five additional ones, as well as reissuing them due to expiration or at the bank's initiative, is completely free. For issuing a new card to replace an old one due to loss, you will need to pay a one-time fee of 500 RUB.
Card maintenance is always free without any conditions. Additionally, you can enable transaction alerts. The cost of this service is 79 RUB per month.
You can top up your card for free at VTB and VTB Group ATMs. Free top-ups are also available via transfers from another bank using any of the methods listed below:
- by bank card number;
- by phone number via the Faster Payments System;
- via bank account details.
You can withdraw cash for free at VTB and VTB Group ATMs, as well as at devices of other banks if one of the following conditions is met:
- if pension payments are credited to the card and no more than three months have passed since their accrual;
- if salary is credited to the card and the withdrawal amount does not exceed 50,000 RUB per month.
If the conditions described above are not met, you will need to pay a fee of 1% of the transaction amount, but not less than 300 RUB.
You can transfer money for free between your own accounts, as well as to other VTB and VTB Group clients. You can transfer money to clients of other credit institutions without a fee by phone number via the Faster Payments System for amounts up to 100,000 RUB per month. If the limit is exceeded, you will need to pay a fee of 0.5% of the transaction, but not more than 1,500 RUB. The fee for transfers by card number is 1% of the amount, but not less than 50 RUB.
Like other banks, VTB rewards its clients for using a debit card and accrues cashback for purchases. Thus, you can receive:
- 2% of the spent amount for purchases in the categories "Restaurants, fast food, and delivery", "Taxi, urban and suburban transport", and "Supermarkets and grocery delivery";
- 2% for purchases in the "Pharmacies" category when salary is credited to the card;
- up to 30% for purchases at VTB partner stores.
The maximum cashback amount for purchases in categories is 2,000 bonus rubles. Accrual of rewards for purchases at partner stores has no limits. You can spend the received cashback in the following ways:
- exchange for rubles at the rate of 1 bonus = 0.85 RUB;
- exchange for goods, travel, certificates, and much more in the "Multibonus" program catalog.
Pros:
- free issuance of primary and secondary cards, as well as their reissuance upon expiration;
- free courier delivery of the card to your home, if you live in a city within the bank's service area;
- free card maintenance without meeting any conditions;
- free use of the mobile app and online banking;
- free card top-up at VTB and VTB Group ATMs, and via transfers from other banks;
- free cash withdrawals at VTB and VTB Group ATMs, as well as at devices of other banks subject to the agreement terms;
- free transfers within VTB and to clients of other banks by phone number via the Faster Payments System for amounts up to 100,000 RUB per month;
- cashback accrual of up to 30% of the purchase amount;
- option to exchange cashback for rubles.
Cons:
- high commission for top-ups and cash withdrawals when limits are exceeded.
How to apply
You can apply for a debit card either at a VTB branch or online on the official website of the credit institution. In the first case, you will need to visit a bank branch with your passport. To apply online, you will need to:
- go to the VTB website;
- click the "Apply for card" button;
- enter your mobile phone number, check the box for Russian citizenship and consent to the processing of personal data;
- click the "Get SMS/Push code" button;
- enter the code from the message;
- enter your last name, first name, patronymic, gender, date of birth, place of birth, and enter a promo code if you have one;
- click the "Next Step" button;
- indicate passport details and registration address;
- click the "Next Step" button;
- indicate the city and delivery method, verify the first and last name that will appear on the card, select the desired branch, or fully specify the delivery address;
- click the "Submit Application" button.
Rates
at ATMs of third-party banks subject to agreement terms — free of charge;
at ATMs of third-party banks in other cases — 1%, but not less than 300 RUB
to other VTB and VTB Group clients — free of charge;
to clients of other banks by phone number via the Faster Payments System for amounts up to 100,000 rubles per month — free of charge;
to clients of other banks by phone number via the Faster Payments System for amounts starting from 100,000 RUB per month — 0.5%, but not more than 1,500 RUB;
to clients of other banks by card number — 1%, but no less than 50 RUB.

How will my card be delivered?
The card offers preferences for residents of Moscow and St. Petersburg (partially), so they can order courier delivery. Residents of other regions, including the Moscow region, receive the debit card at a bank branch.
How does card activation take place?
If the card is delivered to you by a courier, you must perform any transaction at a VTB bank ATM.
At the branch, a bank employee will activate it.
How to check the account balance?
Free of charge at the branch, VTB ATMs, via online banking, and the mobile app. SMS notifications and checks at other ATMs are in accordance with the "Multicard" tariff plan.
I lost control of my PIN, how can I reset it?
To recover it, you can use an ATM, visit a branch, or call the hotline. Changing and resetting the PIN code is paid, 30 RUB per 1 operation.
