How to top up a bank card: 9 proven methods

How to top up a bank card

There are numerous ways to top up a bank card: in cash and non-cash. These options include: transfers from an account, another card, an electronic wallet, and topping up at a bank branch, Russian Post, or ATM. We will explain each method in a bit more detail.

We will analyze each method using specific organizations as examples. The top-up procedure at other banks differs only slightly. Therefore, you will have no trouble completing the procedure if your card was issued by another credit institution.

By transfer from an account opened with the same bank

The easiest way to top up your own bank card is to make an intra-bank transfer between your accounts. At Sberbank, this can be done as follows:

  • log into your personal account in the mobile app or internet bank;
  • select the "Payments" section in the main menu;
  • click on the "Between Mine" menu item;
  • select the debit account and the credit account, and specify the transfer amount;
  • click the "Continue" button;
  • verify the transfer details;
  • click the "Transfer" button.

In this way, you can also top up your account using a card from another bank. In that case, instead of the debit account, you need to select "From a card of another bank", enter the card details, and then confirm the transfer.
