How to check your loan balance at VTB
How to check your loan balance at VTB?
There are many ways to check your loan balance at VTB: via an ATM, at a bank branch, by calling the hotline, in VTB Online, in the mobile app, and using a USSD command. Let's look at each option in more detail.
ATM
In our opinion, this is not the easiest way to find out information about your current loan debt. Despite the fact that VTB is one of the largest Russian banks, it has significantly fewer ATMs than, for example, Sberbank.
However, since some VTB customers still use this method of checking the loan balance, we will explain how to do it:
- First, you need to find the nearest ATM. You can do this directly on the VTB website in the "Branches and ATMs" section at the very bottom of the page. There you need to click on the word "ATMs". Then you need to find your city and use the map to determine the closest device. Click on the icon and check the opening hours.
- Directly at the ATM, you need to insert the card into the reader and enter the PIN code. Then you need to go to the "My Bank" section and review the information on credit products and current debt.
VTB Branch
In order to get information about the loan balance at a bank branch, you first need to find the nearest office. You can do this using the method described above. The only difference will be that instead of "ATMs", you will need to click on "Branches".
To receive information, you must have your Russian passport with you.
Hotline phone
The easiest way to find out the loan balance is to call the hotline. At VTB, it operates 24/7. You can view current numbers directly on the bank's website at the very bottom of the page. At the time of writing this article, VTB customers can get information at the following numbers:
- 1000 — for those calling from a mobile phone;
- 8 (800) 100-24-24 — for residents of Russian regions;
- 8 (495) 777-24-24 — for residents of Moscow and the Moscow Region.
The first two numbers are free. The cost of the service for residents of Moscow and the Moscow Region should be checked with your mobile operator..
VTB Online
In order to receive up-to-date data via VTB Online, you first need to register in the system. To do this, you need to:
- find out the unique client number at a bank branch;
- enter the UNK in the VTB Online login window;
- enter the one-time client code from the SMS message.
After registering in VTB Online, open the "My Products" section and go to the "Loans" tab. Review the information on credit products and current debts.
Mobile app
Checking the loan balance via the mobile application differs slightly from the method described above. There is no option here to check information on active loan products. Therefore, to find out about your current debt, you need to use a small trick:
- log in to your Mobile Application personal account;
- open the "Loan" section;
- select "Early repayments", "Repay early" and "Full early repayment";
- confirm your actions;
- check the information on the remaining loan balance;
- cancel the operation.
USSD command
The final way to check the remaining loan balance at VTB is via a USSD command. To get this information, the bank's client needs to dial "*124#" without quotes and press the call button. Then, enter the unique client number and press the call button again. Next, enter the last four digits of your credit card number.
This method allows you to check the balance only for a credit card. The USSD command does not provide the ability to get information on loans.
How to repay your debt to VTB?
There are many ways to repay a loan at VTB. These include automatic debits from a debit card or account. Let's look at the repayment options in a bit more detail.
Using the Multicard debit card
The easiest way to pay off a loan debt is to use a debit card issued by VTB. As a rule, this is the Multicard, since the bank issues it when granting a loan.
The bank automatically debits money to repay the loan. To avoid arrears, funds should be deposited no later than three days before the date of the next payment.
In VTB Online
In VTB Online, you can find complete information about the loan, as well as the date and amount of the upcoming payment. There you can also check whether there are sufficient funds in the account to repay the loan debt.
Other repayment methods
In addition to the methods described above, you can pay off debts to VTB in the following ways:
- at Russian Post branches;
- by bank transfer from an account opened at another bank;
- via payment terminals;
- through Zolotaya Korona, Beeline, and Kari service points.
Blocked credit cards, expired plastic, and other credit cards cannot be used to repay a VTB loan.
