Why credit cards are so popular

A credit card is a plastic card with a set limit that a financial company assigns at its discretion. If you are a new user, the card limit is minimal. For regular and responsible clients, the bank can increase the limit several times over.

A credit card is suitable for various operations:

  • transferring money from one payment instrument to another;
  • cash withdrawals;
  • paying utility bills;
  • making purchases, including in online stores.

Advantages of using credit cards

Speaking of the advantages of this banking product, they are obvious:

  • availability of a revolving credit line — you can use the money an unlimited number of times;
  • limit revision;
  • the ability to use borrowed funds for free if there is a grace period;
  • online application;
  • obtaining a credit card with just one document — a passport.

Although credit institutions set a minimum payment, which is about 7% of the total debt, the borrower decides independently what exact amount to deposit.

Please note. Russian banks issue credit cards processed through the VISA or MasterCard payment systems. This means they can be used in any country.

How to choose a credit card

Our website features banking products with detailed descriptions. Explore the credit cards and submit an application.

When choosing a credit card, pay maximum attention to such details:

  • Annual interest rate. Choose the offer with the lowest interest rate. The user can influence the rate reduction; for this, it is necessary to provide a maximum of documents confirming your solvency.
  • Credit limit. Advertisements indicate the maximum limit on the credit card, which in reality can be significantly lower.
  • Available bonuses. Recently, cashback banking products that help save on purchases have become very popular. There are also products with various bonuses, such as miles, which can be used to partially or fully pay for tickets.
  • Maintenance fee. Some banks charge a monthly card maintenance fee, others charge it once a year, and some offer free maintenance.

Young people often look for the option to order a credit card with a custom design, but for most customers, this detail plays no role at all.

7 — MTS CASHBACK Universal Card

Whether the MTS CASHBACK card, sitting in seventh place, has the right credit limit for you is entirely your decision. With this product, MTS offers 5% cashback at clothing stores and for restaurant food delivery. Service partners offer increased cashback of up to 25% for topping up an MTS mobile balance.

It also features a grace period of up to 111 days and an interest rate starting at 11.9% per annum.

The main drawback of MTS CASHBACK is the limited cashback. The maximum amount is 10,000 RUB.

6 — MIR Card (Russian Standard Bank)

In sixth place is the MIR card from Russian Standard Bank. This is a free banking product that allows cash withdrawals at any ATM across Russia without commission.

Among the advantages of this payment instrument, users highlight a high credit limit (300,000 RUB), a grace period of up to 55 days, and installment plans of up to 24 months. There is also a loyalty program offering up to 30% discounts on financial transactions.

Although the card offers 5% cashback, it is only available in specific categories (housing and communal services, taxis, parking, etc.)—a drawback mentioned by cardholders in their reviews.

5 — 365 Credit Card — a product from Renaissance Bank

A penalty fee for overdue debt of 20% per annum, as well as paid SMS banking, are things that users dislike.

4 — "110 days" interest-free credit card from Raiffeisenbank

In fourth place is the credit card from Raiffeisenbank — "110 days" interest-free, which has left many cardholders impressed. The credit institution offers an interest-free period of up to 110 days for various financial transactions: transfers, any purchases, cash withdrawals, and quasi-cash.

All statements are free.

3 — Karta Vozmozhnostey (VTB Bank)

The Karta Vozmozhnostey deserves third place in our list. It has a maximum credit limit of 1 million RUB. The interest rate on purchases starts from 11.6%, and on cash withdrawals from 31.9%.

With timely payments, owners of the banking product can use credit funds free of charge for 110 days. And it does not matter what you spend them on: paying for services or goods.

The cashback feature allows you to get back 3% on purchases and up to 15% from partners in the form of bonus rubles to the Multibonus account.

2 — T-Bank Platinum

Second place rightfully goes to the banking product — T-Bank Platinum. How to order a credit card

Using our selection, carefully read the lending rules and choose the best option.

The credit card issuing process

The step-by-step process of getting a credit card looks like this:

  • Filling out the application form and sending it to the lender. Financial companies analyze the application, sometimes contact the client at the specified phone number, and after talking, make a decision. For small limits, many banks do not make callback calls.
  • After the bank makes a decision, the applicant is told the limit and the annual interest rate.
  • If the client is satisfied with everything, they sign the agreement (it may be necessary to visit the office to sign the agreement).
  • After signing the agreement, the bank creates the credit card, which the user can pick up at the scheduled time.

Note. If you do not need the funds right now, you should not rush to activate the card. Until the credit card is activated, no maintenance fee is charged.
