Therefore, modern banks have well-optimized websites and downloadable applications where clients can receive 90% of services remotely around the clock. The popularity rating is based on the number of visits to the bank's internet resource; a total of 150 credit institutions were analyzed.

Most popular banks on Yandex

150 Russian banks were used for the analysis, which accounts for 47.17% of the total number of active banks in the country. Among them, 50 participants were selected for the top list, having achieved the maximum average monthly website traffic. The frequency of visits was taken from services such as SimilarWeb and SpyMetrics; the data is estimated and may not provide 100% accuracy, as such information is visible only to the financial institutions themselves and is not available to the public.

Two companies in the table are not recognized as the most popular by traffic volume:

BCS Bank JSC ranked only 53rd at the end of Q2, moving up +19 spots compared to Q1, with total growth of 204.44%.
Bank of Kazan LLC ranked 63rd, climbing 11 positions; bank website traffic increased by 106.11% by Q2.

Conversely, two participants in the top 30 saw their positions drop in the main ranking. This is likely the result of the dynamic development of competitors' websites.

The popularity of a bank's online platform depends on 2 factors, which were used to determine the lists of the best:

Number of clients — for example, 108.8 million individuals contacted [non-use] regarding various issues, which is 74.29% of the country's population.
Importance of remote service for business — T-Bank currently operates exclusively remotely, with no branches. Therefore, it can only provide services online via the website or app, which affects its traffic.

Other parameters are taken into account with exceptions — for example, it is not mandatory to serve visitors whose visits make up the site's traffic. Tochka Bank serves legal entities only, yet it ranks in the top ten in popularity. Company size and number of branches also do not serve as key factors, although all systemically important institutions are in the top 50. However, UniCredit Bank is 42nd, and among the top ten, two players are not as significant.

Banks with the highest growth in popularity on Google

Credit institutions among the most popular by search queries in Yandex hold their ground in Google and social networks such as VKontakte, Odnoklassniki, or Telegram. Banks have official pages on various platforms and actively distribute advertising, which also helps expand reach.

At the beginning of 2024, the number of visits to bank websites increased significantly compared to the same period in 2023 by +128.3 million. This growth provided a positive dynamic of 10.17%. Monthly analysis comparing 2023 and 2024 shows a slight increase, which may be associated with the active development of the online service delivery format that started back in 2020 after the pandemic began. Bank website traffic can only compete with the number of downloads of credit institution applications and the level of activity within them. Complete information on client visits, the number of transactions performed, and the duration of "sessions" is closed; only separate graphs collected on third-party resources are available.
