The "UnionPay Credit Card" from Russian Standard Bank is an excellent option for those who frequently travel abroad and need to pay for purchases in stores using a card or withdraw cash at ATMs. The card can be used in most countries and regions of the world, including Turkey, the UAE, Vietnam, Thailand, and the Maldives.
Terms
Card issuance is always free. Also, the cardholder will not need to pay for card maintenance provided they make purchases totaling 50,000 RUB or more per month. Otherwise, the bank will charge a card maintenance fee of 499 RUB per month. Maintenance of an additional card will cost the holder 2,500 RUB per year in any case. Additionally, you can connect deposit and expense notification alerts. This service is always free.
Card reissuance will cost the holder 500 RUB in any case.
The available credit limit on the "UnionPay Credit Card" ranges from 30,000 to 600,000 RUB. Russian Standard Bank determines it for each borrower on an individual basis.
The grace period is up to 55 days — its duration depends on when the cardholder made the purchase. The bank also provides an interest-free period of up to 150 days for repaying debts on credit cards issued by other banks. In addition, the cardholder can get a free installment plan for up to 12 months for purchases at Russian Standard Bank partner stores, and an installment plan with an issuance fee for up to 24 months.
The mandatory minimum payment on the "UnionPay Credit Card" is 3% of the debt amount. It must be paid to maintain the grace period and to avoid overdue payments.
Russian Standard Bank does not accrue interest on purchases made within the grace period. Outside of it, the rate ranges from 11.9% to 24.4% per annum for non-cash payments for goods and services, as well as for cash withdrawals and borrowed funds transfers.
In case of a delay in the mandatory monthly payment on the UnionPay Credit Card, the bank charges a penalty. Its amount is 0.1% per day of the debt amount, but not more than 20% per annum.
The cardholder can withdraw cash at ATMs of any banks in the first 30 days from the card issue date. Thereafter, they will need to pay a fee of 4.9% of the transaction amount plus 490 RUB.
At Russian Standard Bank, the borrower can choose one of three options. In the first case, they can receive cashback in the amount of:
- 1% of the spent amount for regular purchases;
- 3% — за покупки в любимой категории при тратах общей стоимостью до 30 тысяч рублей в месяц;
- 5% — за покупки в любимой категории при тратах общей стоимостью от 30 тысяч рублей в месяц.
In the second case, the cardholder can receive cashback of 1.5% of the spent amount for any purchases made with the card. And in the third case, from 1% to 5% for purchases in increased cashback categories.
In addition, Russian Standard Bank awards up to 70% of the spent amount at partner stores.
Borrowers who meet the following requirements can apply for the UnionPay Credit Card:
- are citizens of the Russian Federation;
- have permanent registration in the bank's region of operation;
- aged from 21 to 75 years old.
To obtain a credit card, you only need to provide a passport of a citizen of the Russian Federation and a SNILS or any other identity document.

How to apply
First of all, you can apply for a credit card at a Russian Standard Bank branch. To do this, you need to visit an office during business hours with all the necessary documents. You can also apply for the card online on the credit institution's website. To do this, the future cardholder needs to go to the credit card page and click the "Apply for card" button.

Next, you need to click the "Log in" button or enter your desired credit limit, card type, last name, first name, patronymic, date of birth, gender, mobile phone number, and email address, and then click the "Next" button.

Then the future cardholder will need to enter the confirmation code from the SMS message. After that, they need to enter their passport details, registration address, and actual residential address, and click the "Next" button.

Next, the user will need to enter employment and income information and click the "Next" button again.

Then the future cardholder needs to provide information about marital status and education, an additional emergency contact phone number, and an additional document, and click the "Next" button.

Finally, the user needs to enter a code word, specify the card delivery method, and click the "Next" button again.
