There are situations when you need to find the owner of a bank card. For example, if you found someone else's plastic card. Or if you made an erroneous transaction. Let's look at several common cases when it might be necessary to identify the cardholder.

In case of an erroneous transfer

If you transferred money to the wrong person, you can, of course, find out their details, contact them yourself, and ask for a refund. But it is much easier to do this through the bank itself. What information can be found out from a bank card number

Some basic data is also contained in the plastic card number:

• issuing bank — from the 2nd to the 6th digit of the number;
• program under which the banking product was issued — the 7th and 8th digits;
• personal data of the cardholder — from the 9th to the 15th digit;
