If a person has many active loans and microloans, they may be denied a loan. This is due to the fact that banks do not want to take risks and deal with clients who may fail to cope with their credit obligations. However, even people with a high debt load sometimes need to take out a loan. We explain whether it is possible to get interest-bearing funds with a heavy debt load, what needs to be done for this, and where you can apply for money today.

Is it possible to get a loan with a heavy debt load?
Getting a loan with a high debt load is difficult. This is because there is a high probability that a heavily indebted person will delay monthly payments or stop fulfilling their obligations altogether.
Nevertheless, there are banks that issue loans with a heavy debt load. But the terms at such companies are far from the most favorable:
- Loan amount. In general, banks issue consumer loans ranging from 10,000 to 5,000,000 RUB. But if the client has a very high debt load, they will most likely be approved for no more than 500,000 RUB.
- Loan term. Banks usually set it from 1 year to 5 years. However, for borrowers with a heavy debt load, the loan term rarely exceeds 1 year.
- Interest rate. For people with a high debt load, it approaches the maximum. Currently, some banks issue consumer loans with an interest rate exceeding 50% per annum.
- Borrower requirements. In this case, they are quite strict. To get a positive decision, the borrower must meet the following criteria: have Russian citizenship, permanent registration, residence, and employment in a city where the bank has a branch, be at least 21 years old, and have a permanent job and a high salary.
- Document requirements. To get a positive decision on the application, the borrower will have to provide not only a Russian passport, but also certificates confirming income and employment. If a person is requesting a large amount, collateral will likely be required as well. In this case, they will also have to provide documents for the collateral property.
How to increase the chance of a positive decision?
If a person has a heavy debt load, they still have a chance to get a positive decision on their application. To do this, we recommend following these tips:
- Reduce your debt load. To do this, the person needs to decrease the amount of monthly payments on existing loans and microloans. To guarantee approval, we recommend closing all credit obligations entirely.
- Apply to the bank where you hold a large deposit. In this case, the lender will be confident that you can repay the loan even if you lose your job or fall seriously ill.
- Confirm additional sources of income. If you receive extra money, for example from self-employment or renting out property, we recommend confirming this income as well. This will increase the likelihood of loan approval.
- Provide collateral, such as a vehicle. If for any reason you are unable to fulfill your obligations to the bank, the lending institution will repossess and sell the collateral to cover the debt.
- Provide a co-signer. This is someone who will take over loan repayment obligations if the primary borrower is no longer able to make monthly payments for any reason.
Which banks offer loans with a high debt burden?
Far from all banks issue loans to borrowers with a high debt burden. To ensure approval, it is best to apply to newly opened credit institutions or those that, according to other customers' reviews, are loyal to borrowers. For example, you can apply to the following three banks.
| Name | Amount | Term | Interest rate | Borrower requirements | Documents |
