Situations sometimes arise when you urgently need money, for example, to buy household appliances or pay for medical treatment. If you have no personal savings and no way to borrow from loved ones, you can turn to a bank or a microfinance organization. If you need money for a very short period—3 months—it makes sense to take out a microloan. Getting one is much easier than a consumer loan. We explain whether you can get a loan for three months, on what terms it is provided, and what is required to apply.

Can you get a microloan for 3 months?
Most microfinance organizations only issue small loans—up to 30 thousand RUB for a term of up to 30 days. However, there are also microcredit companies where you can apply for microloans for a longer period—3 months.
- The features of long-term microloans are as follows:
- Loan repayment method. While a short-term microloan can be repaid in a lump sum at the end of the loan term, the situation is different here. Long-term microloans must be repaid, like regular loans, in equal partial payments. As a rule, these must be made every two weeks. However, some microfinance organizations allow debt repayment in equal monthly installments.
- Interest rate. As a rule, it is lower than for short-term microloans. While loans of up to one month have an overpayment of 0.8% per day or 292% per annum, microloans for three months have a lower rate. In some MFIs, the interest rate can be 0.4% per annum. However, this does not mean that the total overpayment on the microloan is small. Due to the long term, borrowers end up paying more.
- Document requirements. As a rule, larger amounts—up to 100 thousand RUB—are borrowed for 3 months. Sometimes a Russian internal passport and SNILS are not enough to get them. Some microcredit companies also request certificates confirming income and place of employment.
What are the terms for issuing 3-month loans?
You can get a 3-month microloan on the following terms:
- Microloan amount. Since this involves a long-term microloan, the MFI provides a larger amount than when applying for a short-term loan. For 3 months, you can get from 30 to 100 thousand RUB.
- Microloan term. You can take out a long-term microloan for a period of 1 to 12 months. In some microfinance organizations, the maximum lending term is 6 months.
- Interest rate. As already mentioned, the overpayment on long-term microloans is generally lower. Not 0.8% per day or 292% per annum, but from 0.4% per day or from 146% per annum.
- Special offers. Many microcredit companies have a special promotion for new clients. They can get their first loan at 0% per day. However, it is important to repay the debt strictly on time, without delays. Some microfinance organizations also prohibit early repayment of the microloan.

Who can get a long-term microloan, and what is required for it?
Overall, microfinance organizations are more lenient toward clients than banks. However, since this involves a long-term microloan, the criteria may be stricter than when applying for a short-term loan:
- Russian citizenship;
- permanent residency in the Russian Federation;
- age from 18 to 70 years old;
- a regular source of income;
- good credit history;
- full legal capacity.
A Russian internal passport is usually sufficient among the documents for a microcredit application. Some microcredit companies also require SNILS and INN information. However, if a person does not have a very good credit history, they will also need to provide certificates confirming income and place of employment to get the application approved.
In addition to documents, applying for a microloan will require any device with internet access, a mobile phone with an active SIM card, and a personalized bank card or an identified electronic wallet.
